Alzheimer’s disease drug fails

Posted in General at 5:28 pm by Judy

I was sorry to read the following story about Pfizer’s drug gone wrong. Did I tell you that many, many years ago, I was going to play a stock market game in the local newspaper. Not knowing much about the stock market, I decided I would close my eyes and just point to a stock. Yep, you guessed it, my finger landed on Pfizer, I should have bought the real stock at the time, I’d be one weathly woman today if I had.

Mekong Supermarket

Posted in General at 4:12 pm by Judy

I found Mekong Market and loved it from the moment I stepped foot inside. My new neice Eva would like the fact how there were Filipino items in the meat section that were not frozen. For example, fresh longanisa! If she ever comes here for a visit I will make sure I take her there.

I am an admitted TV watcher and have my list of must-see-tv shows. But, I read about these in a People magazine issue and thought, what! I’ve never seen one of these shows, am I really missing something good? So I ask you, have you seen any of the following and what is your opinion?

Glee on Fox, Southland on NBC, The Good Wife on CBS, Real Housewives of New Jersey on Bravo, Harper’s Island on CBS, Modern Family on ABC, Parks and Recreation on NBC, and It’s Always Sunny in Philladelphia on FX.

Coffee

Posted in General at 4:34 pm by Judy

“Throughout the entire world, there are roughly 50 varieties of coffee. Fine coffees, like grapes, take on the characteristics of the soil, water and climate where they are farmed”, so says SBC. Over the last 30 years they have developed their own special recipes for blending coffees. As a lover of coffee I can tell you Seattle’s Best Coffee is one of the best. I love coffee so much, my kitchen is done in all things coffee, even my curtains have a coffee pattern. I have enjoyed coffee in Kona, Hi. and can tell you first hand coffee trees grown in Kona are in a league all their own. I do like a good spot of tea every once in a while, but prefer to drink it the English way with a bit of milk in it.

Hospital Names

Posted in General at 2:59 pm by Judy

What’s in a name, well from the looks of it, alot! How long does the public need to be reminded of this as published in the Blade, ” The University of Toledo Medical Center, formerly the Medical College of Ohio Hospital.” Maybe they should never have changed the name in the first place. Enough already, let UTMC be know as just that! If people need to know where it is located, they can log on to the website of UTMC, or look it up the old fashioned way in the phone book.

Love Story

Posted in General at 6:55 pm by Judy

This is one of the kindest things you may ever see..

It is not known who replied, but there is a beautiful soul working in the dead letter office of the   US postal service.

Our 14 year old dog, Abbey, died last month. The day after she died, my 4 year old daughter Meredith was crying and talking about how much she missed Abbey.. She asked if we could write a letter to God so that when Abbey got to heaven, God would recognize her. I told her that I thought we could so she dictated these words:

Dear God,
Will you please take care of my dog? She died yesterday and is with you in heaven. I miss her very much. I am happy that you let me have her as my dog even though she got sick.
I hope you will play with her. She likes to play with balls and to swim. I am sending a picture of her so when you see her You will know that she is my dog. I really miss her.
Love, Meredith

We put the letter in an envelope with a picture of Abbey and Meredith and addressed it to God/Heaven. We put our return address on it. Then Meredith pasted several stamps on the front of the envelope because she said it would take lots of stamps to get the letter all the way to heaven. That afternoon she dropped it into the letter box at the post office. A few days later, she asked if God had gotten the letter yet. I told her that I thought He had.

Yesterday, there was a package wrapped in gold paper on our front porch addressed, ‘To Meredith’ in an unfamiliar hand. Meredith opened it. Inside was a book by Mr. Rogers called, ‘When a Pet Dies..’ Taped to the inside front cover was the letter we had written to God in its opened envelope. On the opposite page was the picture of Abbey &Meredith and this note:

Dear Meredith,
Abbey arrived safely in heaven.
Having the picture was a big help. I recognized Abbey right away.
Abbey isn’t sick anymore. Her spirit is here with me just like it stays in your heart. Abbey loved being your dog.. Since we don’t need our bodies in heaven, I don’t have any pockets to keep your picture in, so I am sending it back to you in this little book for you to keep and have something to remember Abbey by…
Thank you for the beautiful letter and thank your mother for helping you write it and sending it to me. What a wonderful mother you have. I picked her especially for you.
I send my blessings every day and remember that I love you very much.
By the way, I’m easy to find, I am wherever there is love.

Love,
God
