Microsoft and Activision are giving Xbox 360 owners something to truly be thankful for tomorrow, the Halo theme (MJOLNIR Mix edition, featuring fretwork by none other than Steve Vai) is coming to Guitar Hero III. How much will the privilege of playing one of gaming’s most beloved (not to mention most rocking) scores in Guitar Hero III cost you? How does 0 Microsoft Points sound to you?

Halo 3 Heroic Map Pack

Players will be able to enjoy three all new multiplayer maps on December 11 (800 MS Points on December 11th or free* in Spring ‘08) as part of the Heroic Map Pack, the first in a series of downloadable content from Bungie Studios to come via Xbox LIVE.
- The symmetrical valley of Standoff, with its entrenched bases and fields of boulders is ideal for mid-sized objective and Slayer game types.
- The vast, labyrinthine passages of the Rat’s Nest bring something completely new to the multiplayer experience: an indoor vehicle paradise. Strongly influenced by the Campaign mode, this map is ideal for big team battles.
- Foundry is the ultimate Forge map. Players can edit every single object in this voluminous industrial warehouse, placing stairways, walls, bridges, and tunnels to create an entirely new play space and build almost any kind of map imaginable.
*All three maps will become available for free download via Xbox LIVE Marketplace in Spring 2008, just prior to the next wave of new Halo 3 multiplayer maps.

Halo 3 generated an estimated $170 Million on its first day of sales. During the first 20 hours after it released, 1 Million people were playing the game via Xbox Live. Those are incredible numbers and I really hope this game will push the Xbox 360 further ahead of Sony’s Playstation 3.
Finish the Fight!

I won’t be able to “Finish the Fight!” until Friday or Saturday. I didn’t go to any midnight release party & just ordered Halo 3 today via NewEgg.com. It should be here within three days. This game will & should move the Xbox 360 well ahead of the PS3 as it will most likely cause people to buy a Microsoft console. I know my nephew went last night and got his reserved copy @ midnight & saw that he was playing it until around 5:00AM this morning. This is one game I am definitely anxious to play!
Halo 3 Public Beta III

I was able to finish downloading the H3 Beta this morning, considering that Bungie (Microsoft) had issues for customer’s that earned their invite through purchasing Crackdown.
It’s been a long day for a lot of people but we’re happy to announce that effective immediately, a title update for Crackdown is available on Xbox Live that will fix the issue that previously prevented you from downloading the beta. The Microsoft team just deployed this fix and when you launch Crackdown you should receive a prompt to download the update. [Read more...]

Halo 3 Public Beta II

Get your battle rifles and plasma (sticky) grenades ready! The Halo 3 Multiplayer Beta will go live on May 16th at 12:00 AM PDT and run through June 6 th at 11:59 PM PDT.
That means that folks who purchased specially marked copies of Crackdown, or won a spot in the Beta through the “Rule of Three” or other regional promotions, will be able to log into their Xbox Live Gold accounts, download and play the Halo 3 Multiplayer Beta and enjoy an early peek at the multiplayer aspect of the game.

Halo 3 Public Beta

Received the following email today:
Phase one registration is now closed. If you have been selected to participate, you will receive an email notification within the next two days.
For those of you that didn’t make it in – fret not as this phase one was just the first of three ways to secure entry into the Halo 3 multiplayer public beta. The next two paths of entry are:
* Qualifying over Xbox Live® via the “Rule of Three” program in early February
* Purchasing marked packages of the upcoming game CrackdownTM, which hits store shelves in North America on Feb. 20

Master Chief at E3

I remember when rumors emerged from the darkness that Halo 3 was going to be released in Spring of 2006. Around the same time that the PS3 was going to be released. Well, it has been confirmed that Halo 3 will not be out until 2007, not sure which quarter yet. However, Master Chief will be appearing at E3 this year in either a demo or just video footage of the game. I like Sony products, but I have never been a fan on the Playstation. I think if the PS3 was released on schedule, the Xbox360 would be better. I think they delayed the PS3 to increase the performance to try to out do the Xbox360. I also think a huge factor in the delay is Blu-Ray, which is more likely. That’s a different discussion though.
It seems Mr Moore has today revealed that the legendary Master Chief will be appearing at E3 to show off the latest game in the Halo series. Of course nothing is known about what will be shown; whether it will be CGI or in game footage, but rest assured it will be one of the biggest highlights of this years E3. [SOURCE: XboxAddict]
